We all want to work with dream clients, but that doesn't always happen, does it? Sometimes you're faced with situations in which a client doesn't take action, doesn't come prepared, pays late, doesn't take responsibility, or something else that makes them less than dreamy. This can be challenging to manage as a coach, but you CAN change it. Check out these 4 ways you can attract dream clients in your business.
1. Model the behaviours you want to see in your clients.
You must behave in the way you invite them to behave. If you want them to pay on time and take fast action, you must model that by being on time with your contract, onboarding, and first steps. If you want them to be prepared, show them that you are prepared and organized as well.
2. Showcase the strong qualities that make a dream client.
Everyone loves to be shouted out and praised for their strong qualities and hard work. Whenever you have a dream client who is embodying those great qualities, showcase that to your community so they start to see what you are holding space for in potential clients. Share their key values, decisions, conversations, mindset work, and how they are taking action.
3. Practice your own work.
As a coach, you have to practice what you preach. Coaching can be challenging, so it's important to work on your own growth, protect your energy, and learn to detach from the results or challenges of clients. Not only will this make you a stronger human, but it will allow you to be a better coach and mentor for your clients.
4. Communicate effectively.
Communication is the key to a great coach/client relationship. Get clear on what you want to offer and how you want to work with clients. Then, communicate that to them and to your audience clearly. If you notice a conversation becoming too focused on excuses or problems, reframe it or communicate a question to flip the script. If you see a client repeating certain language or actions, communicate it and reflect it back to them. This makes you a BETTER coach and mentor. You are there to help them see what they can't and help them hold space for the change they want to see.
